1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 cups powdered sugar

4 tbsp milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup shredded sweetened coconut (for topping)

½ cup chopped pecans (for topping)

Instructions

Prepare the Cheesecake Center:

    - Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

      - In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.

        - Add egg, vanilla extract, and flour; mix until fully combined.

          - Pour the cheesecake batter into a greased (8-inch round) cake pan.

            - Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the center is set. Allow to cool completely.

              Make the Cake Batter:

                - In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

                  - Add egg whites, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

                    - Stir in vanilla extract, then add milk and mix until smooth.

                      - In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

                        - Fold in shredded coconut and nuts.

                          Assembly:

                            - Divide the cake batter evenly between two greased (9-inch round) cake pans.

                              - Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean in the center.

                                - Once baked, allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

                                  Create Layers:

                                    - Once the cakes have cooled, take one layer, and place it on a serving plate.

                                      - Carefully place the cooled cheesecake center on top of the first cake layer.

                                        - Spread a thin layer of frosting on the cheesecake layer, then place the second cake layer on top.

                                          Frosting:

                                            - In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.

                                              - Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract while alternating with milk until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.

                                                - Frost the top and sides of the cake.

                                                  Garnishing:

                                                    - Sprinkle shredded coconut and chopped pecans on top of the frosting for garnish.
