Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1/2 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 tablespoons sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thicker glaze)

1 tablespoon water (if using cornstarch)

1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

3 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until well combined.

Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a zip-top plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for more flavor).

        Bake the Chicken:

          - Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it in a baking dish. Reserve the marinade for later use.

            - Season the chicken with salt and pepper to taste.

              - Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 74°C).

Prepare the Glaze: While the chicken is baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. If you prefer a thicker glaze, mix the cornstarch with water in a small bowl, then add it to the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, whisking continuously, until it thickens slightly (about 5-7 minutes).

Glaze the Chicken: Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oven. Brush the thickened glaze generously over the chicken breasts. Return them to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes to allow the glaze to set.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the chicken from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes, then sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before slicing. Serve with steamed rice and vegetables for a complete meal.
