Ingredients

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

4 cups cold water

1 cup ice cubes

Lemon slices and strawberry slices for garnish

Fresh mint leaves for an extra touch (optional)

Instructions

In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and 1 cup of cold water. Blend until smooth to create a strawberry puree. You can strain it if you prefer a smoother texture, but it's not necessary.

In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved. This may take a minute or two; you can use a whisk to help.

Add the strawberry puree to the pitcher along with the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed.

Taste your lemonade. If you prefer it sweeter, add more sugar to taste. For a more intense strawberry flavor, add more strawberry puree if available.

Refrigerate your strawberry lemonade for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve the lemonade over ice cubes in glasses. Garnish each glass with a slice of lemon, a slice of strawberry, and a sprig of fresh mint if desired.

Enjoy your refreshing, homemade zesty strawberry lemonade!
