Ingredients

For the dough:

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast

1 tsp salt

½ cup whole milk, warmed

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the filling:

1 cup cream cheese, softened

½ cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup fresh strawberries, diced

For the glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2-3 tbsp milk

Optional: additional strawberries for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt. In another bowl, mix warmed milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing well.

Knead the dough: Slowly incorporate the remaining flour until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Make the filling: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the diced strawberries.

Roll out the dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll it into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.

Add the filling: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the rolled dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other and pinch the seams to seal.

Cut the rolls: Slice the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover the dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

Bake the rolls: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the rolls have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Prepare the glaze: While the rolls are baking, mix powdered sugar with milk in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk or powdered sugar as desired.

Glaze and serve: Once the rolls are done, let them cool for about 10 minutes. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls and garnish with additional strawberries if desired. Serve warm.
