Ingredients

For the Dough:

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup whole milk, warmed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

For the Strawberry Filling:

1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

1/4 cup sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon lemon juice

For the Cheesecake Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg

For the Topping:

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1-2 tablespoons milk

Extra strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix the warm milk, melted butter, and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add the eggs, salt, and flour gradually, kneading until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Make Strawberry Filling: In a small saucepan, combine chopped strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice over medium heat. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries break down and the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Prepare Cheesecake Filling: In a bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth and creamy.

Assemble Sweet Rolls: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a 1/4 inch thick rectangle. Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Then, drizzle the strawberry filling over the cheesecake layer.

Roll It Up: Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish, spacing them slightly apart. Cover and let rise again for about 30 minutes.

Preheat Oven: While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the Rolls: Once the rolls have risen, bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Adjust the milk for desired consistency.

Glaze & Serve: Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls and garnish with fresh strawberries, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
