Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

8 oz (225g) pasta (penne or rotini works well)

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup (240ml) beef broth

1 cup (240ml) heavy cream

1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup (100g) frozen peas

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In the same pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the pot. Begin breaking it apart with a wooden spoon and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

Create the Sauce: Pour in the beef broth and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine, then bring to a simmer. Allow to cook for about 5 minutes until slightly reduced.

Add Cream and Cheese: Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and creamy.

Combine and Finish: Add the cooked pasta and frozen peas to the beef and sauce mixture. Toss everything together until well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and allow to heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve warm.
