Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 bell peppers (one red, one green), sliced into strips

1 medium onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch fresh ginger, minced

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked white rice or steamed rice, for serving

Sliced green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Toss to coat the steak evenly. Allow it to marinate for 15-20 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat until it shimmers.

Cook the Steak: Add the marinated steak to the pan in a single layer. Sear for about 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned but not fully cooked through. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Toss in the sliced bell peppers and onions, and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are slightly tender.

Add Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan, and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Combine and Flavor: Return the steak to the skillet, then add the oyster sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the steak is cooked through and the sauce coats everything evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve: Serve the sizzling pepper steak hot over a bed of cooked white rice. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired.
