Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)

1 large onion, sliced

1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

1/2 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

In a bowl, combine sliced flank steak, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the meat and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated steak and stir-fry until browned and cooked through (about 3-5 minutes). Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil.

Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, stir-frying for about 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Pour in the beef broth, rice vinegar, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly for about 2-3 minutes.

Return the cooked steak to the skillet, adding sesame oil. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through, about 1-2 minutes.

Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles, garnished with chopped green onions.
