Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/4 cup beef broth

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 onion, sliced

1 bell pepper (green or red), sliced

1 tablespoon garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for spice)

3 green onions, chopped for garnish

Cooked white rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the beef. Let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes while you prep the other ingredients.

Prepare the Vegetables: Slice the onion and bell pepper into thin strips. Mince the garlic and ginger, and set all ingredients aside.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Let it sear for about 2-3 minutes without stirring, then toss until the steak is browned all over. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions, bell pepper, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet crisp.

Combine and Simmer: Return the beef to the skillet with the veggies. Pour in the beef broth and sprinkle with black pepper and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine all ingredients, and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot over cooked white rice or noodles for a full meal.
