Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

1 large onion, sliced

1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, rice vinegar, and black pepper. Whisk well to create a marinade.

Add the sliced flank steak to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Once hot, add the marinated steak, reserving the marinade for later. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until the steak is browned and cooked through. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions, bell pepper, and minced garlic, and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in the reserved marinade and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Drizzle with sesame oil, stir, and remove from heat. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Serve hot over steamed rice and enjoy the sizzling flavors!
