Ingredients

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 cup cornstarch

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup panko bread crumbs

½ cup sesame seeds (white and black mixed for color)

½ cup honey

¼ cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Green onions, thinly sliced for garnish

Instructions

Prepare Chicken: Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with cornstarch, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of panko bread crumbs and sesame seeds.

Coat Chicken: Dip each chicken piece into the cornstarch, shaking off the excess, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in the panko-sesame seed mixture. Ensure it’s evenly coated.

Fry Chicken: In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil (about 1 inch deep) over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make the Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Toss Chicken and Sauce: In a large bowl, add the crispy chicken pieces and drizzle the sauce over them. Gently toss to coat all the chicken evenly with the sauce.

Serve: Transfer the sesame chicken to a serving plate, garnishing with thinly sliced green onions for color and flavor.

              Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 4

                - Presentation Tips: Serve the chicken over a bed of steamed rice or alongside stir-fried vegetables for a colorful platter. Sprinkle additional sesame seeds on top for an appealing finish. Enjoy!
