Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup sautéed mushrooms (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts on both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

Sear the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics: In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they become soft and translucent. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

Make the Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, and sautéed mushrooms (if using). Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Smother the Chicken: Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over them. Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes to meld the flavors and allow the sauce to thicken.

Serve: Once done, plate the chicken and generously drizzle the creamy sauce over the top. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
