Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 for juiciness)

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1/4 cup finely chopped mushrooms

1 clove garlic, minced

1 egg

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Dijon mustard

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

1 cup beef broth (low-sodium)

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)

1 tbsp water (for mixing with cornstarch)

Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Meat Mixture:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, mushrooms, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into oval patties.

      Cook the Patties:

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.

          Make the Gravy:

In the same skillet, add the beef broth and soy sauce, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring the mixture to a simmer. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Gradually stir the slurry into the simmering gravy until it thickens to your desired consistency.

              Combine and Serve:

Return the cooked patties to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them. Let them simmer together for 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors. Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley.

                  Enjoy:

Pair your flavorful Salisbury steaks with mashed potatoes or creamy polenta, and drizzle with additional gravy for ultimate indulgence!
