Ingredients

2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon almond extract

Red and brown chocolate candies for decoration (like M&M's)

Edible glitter or gold sprinkles (optional)

Royal icing (for piping features)

Instructions

Prep the Oven and Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar on medium speed until fluffy and light in color (about 3-4 minutes).

Incorporate Wet Ingredients: Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and beat until well combined.

Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Chill the Dough: Divide the dough into two halves, wrap each half in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to stiffen.

Roll and Cut Out Cookies: On a lightly floured surface, roll out one portion of dough to about ¼ inch thick. Use reindeer-shaped cookie cutters to cut out cookies. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Decorate the Cookies: Once completely cooled, use royal icing to pipe eyes and a mouth on Rudolph. Attach a red chocolate candy for the nose and brown chocolate candies for antlers. If desired, sprinkle some edible glitter or gold sprinkles for a festive touch.

Enjoy: Allow the decorated cookies to set for about 30 minutes before serving or packaging them as delightful gifts!
