Ingredients

1 lb spicy pork sausage (or your choice of sausage)

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 can (10 oz) Rotel (diced tomatoes and green chilies), drained

1 tsp garlic powder

1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cooking spray (or parchment paper for baking)

Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If using parchment paper, line a baking sheet.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Drain any excess grease.

Add the softened cream cheese to the skillet with the cooked sausage, stirring until melted and well combined.

Mix in the drained Rotel and garlic powder, allowing the mixture to heat through and combine for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Separate the triangles, and place a spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each triangle.

Sprinkle a small amount of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the filling. Roll up each crescent starting from the wide end to the pointed end, enclosing the filling.

Arrange the rolled crescents on the baking sheet and lightly spray with cooking spray for a golden finish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
