3 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

1/2 cup mini marshmallows (optional for extra chewiness)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy removal of cookies.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

      Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

        Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.

          Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

            Stir in Rice Krispies and Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the Rice Krispies and chocolate chips (and mini marshmallows if using) into the cookie dough until evenly distributed.

              Scoop and Bake: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
