Ingredients

4 large flour tortillas

1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)

1 cup cooked chicken (shredded or diced) or black beans (for a vegetarian option)

1/2 cup chopped bell peppers (any color)

1/2 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)

1/4 cup finely chopped red onion

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil or cooking spray

Salsa and sour cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven or Air Fryer: If baking, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If air frying, preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C).

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheese, chicken (or black beans), bell peppers, jalapeños, red onion, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.

      Make the Tortilla Cones:

        - Take a tortilla and cut a small slit from the center to the edge. This will help you form a cone shape.

          - Gently overlap the sides of the tortilla to form a cone and secure with a toothpick or a small piece of aluminum foil at the bottom. Repeat this with the remaining tortillas.

Fill the Cones: Carefully fill each tortilla cone with the prepared filling, using about 1/4-1/3 cup of filling per cone.

Brush or Spray with Oil: Lightly brush the outside of each cone with olive oil or spray with cooking spray to help them crisp up while cooking.

                Bake or Air Fry:

                  - For Baking: Place the cones upright in a muffin tin to hold their shape and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the edges are golden brown.

                    - For Air Frying: Place the cones in the air fryer basket in a single layer (cook in batches if necessary) and air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until crispy and golden.

Serve: Remove the cones from the oven or air fryer and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with salsa and sour cream on the side for dipping.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 4 (1 cone per serving)
