4 slices of sourdough bread

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup marinara sauce

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

1/4 cup sliced black olives

1 tsp dried oregano

2 tbsp butter

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Bread: Heat a skillet over medium heat. While the skillet is heating, spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread. This will create a crisp, golden crust.

    Assemble the Bottom Layer: Place two slices of the sourdough in the skillet, buttered side down. Spoon a generous amount of marinara sauce on each slice, making sure to cover them evenly.

      Add the Cheese and Toppings: Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the marinara sauce, then layer with pepperoni, black olives, and the remaining mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle dried oregano for added flavor.

        Top It Off: Place the remaining two slices of bread on top, buttered side up.

          Grill to Perfection: Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the bottom is golden and crispy. Carefully flip the sandwich and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top slice. Continue grilling for another 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.

            Serve and Garnish: Remove from skillet and let cool for a minute. Cut into triangles, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
