Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 large onion, diced

1 green bell pepper, diced

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

4 slices provolone cheese (or cheese of your choice)

4 hamburger buns, toasted

Optional toppings: pickled jalapeños, mayonnaise, or hot sauce

Instructions

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they begin to soften.

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional minute, stirring frequently to avoid burning.

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef (or turkey) to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Reduce the heat to low and place a slice of provolone cheese over the beef mixture. Cover the skillet for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts.

Serve the sloppy joe mixture generously piled onto the toasted hamburger buns. Top with optional ingredients like pickled jalapeños or mayo, if desired.

Enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes hot!
