Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or ground turkey

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 bell pepper (green or red), finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and Pepper to taste

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese

4 hamburger buns, toasted

Optional: Sriracha or hot sauce for extra heat

Fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions

Sauté the Vegetables: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil. Sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper until they are softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Brown the Meat: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef (or turkey) to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Add Seasoning: Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the flavors.

Make it Creamy: Reduce the heat to low, and stir in the softened cream cheese until fully melted and integrated with the meat and vegetable mixture.

Melt the Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese over the mixture. Cover the skillet for a couple of minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Assemble the Sloppy Joes: Spoon a generous amount of the cheese steak mixture onto the toasted hamburger buns.

Garnish and Serve: Drizzle with Sriracha or your favorite hot sauce for an extra kick if desired. Finish with fresh parsley or basil before serving.
