Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon active dry yeast

3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F)

2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for brushing)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 1/2 cups sliced pepperoni

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, until bubbly and foamy.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.

Combine Mixtures: Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough starts to form.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, gradually add more flour.

First Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare Filling: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick).

Assemble Rolls: Sprinkle mozzarella, Parmesan, and slices of pepperoni evenly over the dough. Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the seams to seal.

Slice and Arrange: Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place the rolls cut-side up on a greased baking sheet.

Second Rise: Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Brush and Bake: Brush the tops of the rolls with a little olive oil for a golden finish. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve: Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Pair them with warm marinara sauce for dipping.
