Ingredients

4 cups water

4 black tea bags

2 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced

½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

Boil Water: In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.

Steep Tea: Remove the saucepan from heat and add the black tea bags. Allow them to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.

Make Peach Syrup: In a separate small saucepan, combine the sliced peaches and sugar. Add 1 cup of water and heat over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the peaches begin to soften (about 5-7 minutes). Mash the peaches slightly with a fork to release their juices.

Strain Peach Mixture: Once the peaches are softened, strain the mixture into a bowl to separate the syrup from the solids. Discard the solids or use them as a topping for desserts.

Combine Ingredients: Remove the tea bags from the steeping tea and stir in the peach syrup and lemon juice. Mix well and taste; adjust sweetness if necessary.

Chill: Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until fully chilled.

Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the chilled peach iced tea over the ice, and garnish with fresh mint leaves and extra peach slices if desired.
