Ingredients

9 lasagna noodles

1 lb ground beef

6 strips of bacon, chopped

1 small onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes

1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups ricotta cheese

1 egg

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

Sauté the Beef: In the same skillet, remove excess bacon fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Add the diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Then, add the minced garlic and ground beef, cooking until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add Tomatoes and Season: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

Prepare the Ricotta Mixture: In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, half of the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.

Cook the Lasagna Noodles: In a large pot, boil water with a pinch of salt. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and lay on a flat surface to cool.

Assemble the Lasagna: In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom. Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, half the ricotta mixture, half the bacon, followed by a layer of the meat sauce, and a sprinkle of cheddar and mozzarella cheese.

Repeat Layers: Repeat the layers—noodles, remaining ricotta, remaining bacon, remaining meat sauce, and top with the remaining noodles. Finish with the rest of the cheddar, mozzarella, and the remaining Parmesan cheese.

Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once out of the oven, let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before slicing and serving.
