Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers still look soft. Do not overbake, as the cookies will firm up as they cool.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, dust the cookies with powdered sugar for a beautiful presentation.
