Ingredients

4 fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or sole)

1/2 cup unsalted butter

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Zest of 1 lemon

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

Lemon wedges, for serving

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Fish: Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Make the Lemon Butter Sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to let it brown.

Add Lemon and Herbs: Stir in the fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and thyme. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors.

Cook the Fish: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of the lemon butter sauce to the skillet. Carefully place the fillets in the skillet, cooking for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown.

Flip the Fish: Gently flip the fillets and pour additional lemon butter sauce on top of the fish. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Serve: Transfer the fish to serving plates and drizzle with the remaining lemon butter sauce. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
