Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup diced fresh jalapeños (seeds removed for less heat)

1/4 cup diced green onions

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup Panko bread crumbs

1 large egg, beaten

Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, diced jalapeños, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Form the Balls: Using your hands, scoop out about 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture and roll it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture until you have around 20 cheese balls.

Set Up Breading Station: In one bowl, place the beaten egg. In another bowl, add the Panko bread crumbs.

Bread the Cheese Balls: Dip each cheese ball first into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off. Then, roll it in the Panko bread crumbs, ensuring it is fully coated. Place the breaded cheese balls on a baking sheet.

Fry the Cheese Balls: In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the cheese balls in batches, frying them for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Don’t overcrowd the pan.

Drain Extra Oil: Use a slotted spoon to remove the cheese balls from the oil and transfer them onto a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Serve and Enjoy: Allow the cheese balls to cool slightly before serving. They are best enjoyed while warm, with dipping sauces like ranch or spicy queso.
