2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 large egg yolks

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup finely chopped walnuts or hazelnuts

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

1/4 cup milk (as needed for dough consistency)

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg yolks and vanilla extract until well combined.

      Add Flour and Salt: Gradually add the flour and salt to the butter mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add milk a tablespoon at a time until you reach desired consistency.

        Incorporate Nuts: Gently fold in the finely chopped nuts into the dough until evenly distributed.

          Shape Cookies: Take a small portion of the dough (about the size of a walnut) and roll it into a log, then shape it into a crescent or a small oval. Repeat with the remaining dough.

            Bake: Place the shaped cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each one. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are lightly golden on the edges.

              Cool and Dust: Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Once cooled, generously dust the tops with powdered sugar.
