Ingredients

For the Honeybun Cake:

1 box (15.25 oz) vanilla cake mix

1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix

4 large eggs

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

For the Strawberry Cream Icing:

1 cup heavy whipping cream

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup fresh strawberries, pureed

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Prepare the Cake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix and instant vanilla pudding mix. Add the eggs, sour cream, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Create the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix well.

Layer the Cake: Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter, followed by the chopped strawberries. Pour the remaining cake batter on top and then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar over it.

Swirl the Mixtures: Use a knife to swirl the batters slightly to create a marbled effect, but don’t overmix.

Bake the Cake: Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan on a wire rack.

Prepare the Strawberry Cream Icing: In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. In another bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar; mix until smooth. Gradually fold in the strawberry puree, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

Ice the Cake: Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the strawberry cream icing evenly over the top. Garnish with additional fresh strawberries, if desired.

Serve and Enjoy: Slice and serve the cake to your loved ones, enjoying the irresistible combination of flavors!
