Ingredients

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 clove garlic, minced

1 teaspoon coarse sea salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Zest of 1 lemon

Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (for garnish, optional)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Add the chopped rosemary, thyme leaves, red pepper flakes, minced garlic, sea salt, and black pepper to the bowl.

Stir the ingredients until they are well mixed. Allow the mixture to rest for at least 15 minutes so the flavors can meld together.

Just before serving, add the lemon zest and stir again.

Transfer the dip to a shallow serving dish.

Drizzle a little extra olive oil on top, if desired, and sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves for a pop of color and flavor.

Serve alongside crusty bread, breadsticks, or fresh vegetables for dipping.
