12 oz mozzarella cheese sticks

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

Prep the Cheese: Cut each mozzarella stick in half to create 24 pieces. Place them in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm up; this helps prevent the cheese from oozing out during frying.

    Set Up Breading Station: In three shallow dishes, set up your breading station. In the first dish, place the flour. In the second dish, whisk the eggs until well combined. In the third dish, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

      Breading the Cheese Sticks: Remove the mozzarella sticks from the freezer. Dredge each stick first in the flour, making sure to coat completely. Shake off any excess flour. Next, dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring it's well-coated, and finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs. Repeat this process for all the cheese sticks.

        Chilling: Once all the cheese sticks are breaded, place them back in the freezer for an additional 30 minutes. This helps maintain their shape while frying.

          Frying: In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of oil over medium-high heat.
