Ingredients

12 oz linguine or spaghetti pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup dry white wine (e.g., Sauvignon Blanc)

1 lemon, zested and juiced

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil together. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant (about 1 minute), making sure not to burn the garlic.

Add Shrimp: Raise the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the white wine and bring it to a simmer, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it reduce for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combine Ingredients: Reduce the heat to low. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, and the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water little by little until you achieve your desired sauce consistency.

Finish with Shrimp and Parsley: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Toss again gently to combine, allowing the shrimp to heat through.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
