Ingredients

8 oz elbow macaroni

2 cups water

1 cup milk (whole or 2%)

8 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed

1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

2 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp paprika (optional, for extra flavor)

Salt to taste

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make the Cheese Sauce: In the same pot, reduce the heat to medium and add 1 cup of milk. Slowly whisk in the cubed Velveeta cheese until melted and smooth. Stir in the sharp cheddar cheese until fully incorporated.

Season the Sauce: Add the unsalted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, paprika (if using), and salt to the cheese sauce. Mix well until the butter is melted and the sauce is creamy.

Combine: Add the cooked macaroni to the pot with the cheese sauce and stir until the pasta is evenly coated.

Optional Topping: If you'd like a crispy topping, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese into a baking dish, sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly on top, and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.

Serve: Remove from the oven (if baked) and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
