Ingredients

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips

1 tablespoon vegetable shortening

Sea salt (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Make the Peanut Butter Filling: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.

Shape the Filling: Use your hands to shape the peanut butter mixture into egg shapes, about 1 1/2 inches long. Place the shaped eggs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Chill the Filling: Refrigerate the peanut butter eggs for about 30 minutes, or until they are firm.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the milk chocolate chips and vegetable shortening. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until completely melted and smooth.

Dip the Eggs: Using a fork, carefully dip each peanut butter egg into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are completely coated. Shake off any excess chocolate and place them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Set the Chocolate: After dipping all the eggs, place the tray in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.

Garnish (Optional): If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on each egg before the chocolate sets for a touch of sweetness and flavor contrast.

Serve: Enjoy your homemade Reese’s Eggs! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
