Ingredients

8 oz elbow macaroni

2 cups water

1 cup milk

½ cup Velveeta cheese, cubed

1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon mustard powder

Salt and pepper to taste

½ cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook Pasta: In a medium pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook for about 7-8 minutes or until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Create Cheese Sauce: In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and mustard powder. Heat until warm, stirring frequently.

Add Cheese: Reduce the heat to low and slowly stir in the cubed Velveeta cheese and shredded cheddar. Continue to stir until the cheeses are completely melted and smooth.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring until the pasta is fully coated with the creamy mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Optional - Bake Topping: If you want a crispy topping, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and bake for about 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Serve: Once ready, remove from the oven (if baked), and garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your creamy Velveeta mac and cheese!
