4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup whole milk, lukewarm

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

For the icing:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Prepare the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix the lukewarm milk, melted butter, and eggs until combined. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

    Knead the dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

      Make filling: In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans (if using) until well combined.

        Roll the dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the cinnamon filling evenly across the rolled-out dough.
