Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

4 medium-sized potatoes, thinly sliced

1 large onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup sour cream

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp paprika

2 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent (about 3-4 minutes).

Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as you go, for about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Stir in the beef broth, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, giving the flavors time to meld together. Remove from heat.

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, arrange half of the sliced potatoes evenly at the bottom.

Spread the cooked ground beef mixture over the layer of potatoes, ensuring even coverage.

Place the remaining potato slices on top of the beef layer.

In a bowl, mix together the sour cream with a splash of beef broth, and spoon this mixture over the top layer of potatoes. Spread it evenly to cover.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the sour cream layer.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.

Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
