Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, your choice)

1 cup chopped onion

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup spicy brown mustard

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 package rye cocktail bread or party pumpernickel bread

Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and breakfast sausage until browned, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess fat.

Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cheddar cheese, spicy brown mustard, mayonnaise, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine.

Once the meat and onion mixture is cooked, remove from heat and stir in the cheese mixture until melted and well incorporated.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

On a baking sheet, lay out the rye cocktail bread. Spoon a generous amount of the meat mixture onto each piece of bread.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the tops are bubbly and starting to brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Serve warm as an appetizer or snack, and enjoy the delicious flavors!
