Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup milk

1 large egg

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 large onion, sliced

2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.

Form the mixture into 4 oval patties, about 3/4 inch thick.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the hamburger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through. Remove patties from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions. Sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.

Pour in the beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan, and bring to a simmer.

Stir in the cornstarch mixture, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the gravy thickens.

Return the hamburger patties to the skillet, coating them in the onion gravy. Let them simmer together for 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley, alongside mashed potatoes or your favorite side dish.
