Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1 cup green food coloring (gel preferred)

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

1/2 cup crushed candy canes (for decoration)

1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional for decoration)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.

Add Food Coloring and Chips: Divide the cookie dough into two parts and add the green food coloring, mixing until the dough turns a bright Grinch green. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.

Scoop Dough: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop tablespoon-sized balls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake the Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.

Decorate: Once out of the oven, while still warm, sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top for a festive touch. If desired, drizzle melted white chocolate over the cookies for an extra sweet twist.

Cool and Serve: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: Approximately 24 cookies
