Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast

1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a small bowl, sprinkle the yeast over warm water and add sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and melted butter. Stir until a dough begins to form.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, until it’s smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 24 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small ball.

In a separate bowl, mix the garlic powder, dried herbs, mozzarella, and Parmesan together.

Take each dough ball and dip it into the garlic and cheese mixture, ensuring they are well coated. Layer the balls vertically into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.

Pour any remaining melted butter over the top of the bread before covering it with foil. Let it rise again for about 30 minutes or until it has puffed up.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, removing the foil in the last 10 minutes to achieve a golden crust.

Once done, let it cool slightly. Remove from the pan and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
