Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

3/4 cup buttermilk

1 pound roast beef, thinly sliced

1 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Biscuit Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.

Incorporate the Butter: Add in the cold, cubed butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the butter pieces are about the size of peas.

Add Cheese and Liquid: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese. Slowly pour in the buttermilk, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overwork the dough.

Shape the Biscuits: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter or a glass, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the Biscuits: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

Prepare the Dip: While the biscuits are baking, combine the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for about 5 minutes, then stir in the sliced roast beef until heated through.

Assemble and Serve: Remove the biscuits from the oven. Split them open and fill with the warmed roast beef. Serve immediately with the beef broth mixture in small bowls for dipping.

Garnish: If desired, sprinkle with fresh parsley for a pop of color.
