Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup whole milk

1 cup chopped pecans, toasted

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

Prepare the Pecan Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.

Cream the Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each one is well incorporated. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the whole milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Fold in Pecan Mixture: Gently fold in the toasted pecan mixture into the batter until evenly distributed.

Bake: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool: Once done, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Drizzle with Caramel: Once cooled, drizzle warm caramel sauce over the top of each layer for an indulgent finish.

Serve: Stack the layers together if desired, slice, and serve. Enjoy a slice of decadent butter pecan bliss!
