Ingredients

2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts

4 slices of deli ham (preferably smoked)

4 slices of Swiss cheese

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Olive oil, for frying

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Chicken: Place chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap or wax paper. Using a meat mallet or rolling pin, gently pound the chicken to about 1/4-inch thickness.

Layer the Filling: Lay 2 slices of ham on each chicken breast, followed by 2 slices of Swiss cheese. Roll the chicken tightly from one end to the other—this creates your chicken rolls. Secure with toothpicks if necessary.

Set Up Breading Station: Prepare three shallow bowls—one with flour seasoned with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper; one with beaten eggs; and the last with breadcrumbs.

Bread the Chicken: Dredge each chicken roll in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Fry the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the breaded chicken rolls in the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown. (You may need to do this in batches).

Prepare the Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and heavy cream. Set aside.

Bake: Once the chicken is fried, transfer the rolls to a baking dish. Pour the creamy sauce over the chicken and cover with foil. Bake for 20 minutes.

Final Touch: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the top to become bubbly and golden.

Serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped parsley before slicing into the rolls. Serve warm with a side of vegetables or a fresh salad.
