4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast

1 ½ cups warm milk (110°F/43°C)

¼ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon salt

1 large egg

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for the garlic butter)

4 cloves garlic, minced

¼ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

¼ teaspoon salt (for garlic butter mixture)

Instructions
 

Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

    Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the melted butter, activated yeast mixture, and the egg. Mix until it forms a shaggy dough.

      Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. You can also use a stand mixer with a dough hook for this step.

        First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

          Prepare Garlic Butter: In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

            Shape the Rolls: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it onto a floured surface. Divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Place the rolls into a greased baking dish.

              Second Rise: Cover the shaped rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffed.

                Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

                  Add Garlic Butter: Once the rolls have risen, brush each one generously with the prepared garlic butter mixture.

                    Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
