Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients required for cake preparation)

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 cup chocolate syrup

2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped peanuts (for garnish)

Optional: chocolate shavings or additional chocolate syrup for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Cake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions and pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake for the suggested time (usually around 30-35 minutes). A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean when done. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes.

Poke the Cake: Once the cake has cooled slightly, use the handle of a wooden spoon or a straw to poke holes all over the surface of the cake, about 1-inch apart.

Make the Filling: In a bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter and the sweetened condensed milk. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

Fill the Holes: Pour the peanut butter mixture evenly over the poked cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes. Use a spatula to spread it evenly, if necessary.

Add Chocolate Syrup: Drizzle the chocolate syrup over the top of the cake, allowing it to cascade into the holes as well.

Top with Whipped Topping: Spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake, covering the peanut butter and chocolate layers completely.

Garnish: Sprinkle mini chocolate chips and chopped peanuts evenly over the whipped topping for added texture and flavor.

Chill the Cake: Cover the cake with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate it for at least 4 hours (or overnight) to allow all the flavors to meld together and to set the cake.

Serve: Before serving, feel free to add optional chocolate shavings or an additional drizzle of chocolate syrup on top. Slice the cake into squares and enjoy the decadent combination of chocolate and peanut butter!
