Ingredients
  

3-4 pounds pork shoulder or butt

1 can (12 oz) Coca-Cola

1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 onion, finely chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon brown sugar

Optional: hamburger buns and coleslaw for serving

Prepare the Pork: Start by trimming excess fat from the pork shoulder. Cut it into large chunks for easier cooking and shredding later.

    Sear the Meat (optional): For added flavor, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the pork pieces with salt and pepper, then sear them on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. This step is optional but enhances the taste.

      Prepare the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine Coca-Cola, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, and brown sugar. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.

        Combine in Crockpot: Place the pork chunks in the bottom of the crockpot. Pour the Coca-Cola mixture over the pork, ensuring it's well-coated.

          Cook: Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the pork is tender and easy to shred.

            Shred the Pork: Once cooked, remove the pork from the crockpot and place it on a cutting board. Use two forks to shred the meat into bite-sized pieces.

              Mix with Sauce: Return the shredded pork to the crockpot and stir in some of the cooking liquid to moisten. Let it sit on the warm setting for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
