Ingredients

2 pounds chicken wings

2 tablespoons baking powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Wings: Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture is key to getting them crispy.

Season the Wings: In a large bowl, combine the baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the seasoned wings out on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Make sure there’s space between each wing to allow for even cooking and crispiness.

Bake the Wings: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 35-45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).

Coat with Barbecue Sauce: In a medium bowl, toss the hot wings with your barbecue sauce until they are well coated. Return the wings to the baking sheet.

Broil for Extra Crispiness: Switch the oven setting to broil and place the wings back in the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.

Serve and Enjoy: Remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, and serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side for dipping.
