Ingredients

20 large pasta shells

1 pound ground beef

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

2 cups marinara sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, boil salted water and cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mix the Cheese Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, and the cooked ground beef. Mix until well incorporated. Adjust seasonings if needed.

Stuff the Shells: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Carefully fill each pasta shell with the ricotta and beef mixture using a spoon or piping bag.

Layer the Dish: Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish, seam side up. Once all shells are in the dish, pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Serve: Garnish with fresh basil before serving. Enjoy your creamy ricotta beef stuffed shells with a side salad or garlic bread!
