Ingredients

12 oz fresh or store-bought ravioli (choose your favorite filling, such as ricotta or spinach)

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

Zest of 1 large lemon

Juice of 1 large lemon

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)

Instructions

Cook the Ravioli: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add ravioli and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water.

Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Prepare the Cream Sauce: Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream to the skillet. Stir in lemon zest and lemon juice. Let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Combine Ingredients: Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and incorporated smoothly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Toss Ravioli: Add the cooked ravioli to the skillet and gently toss to coat them in the creamy lemon sauce. Heat through for an additional 2 minutes.

Serve and Garnish: Plate the creamy lemon ravioli. Top with fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes, if using. Serve immediately for a delightful meal!
