Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)

8 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Allow it to froth slightly but do not let it brown.

Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant and starts to soften. Be cautious not to burn it.

Lower the heat to medium-low and pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously to combine with the garlic butter.

Add the Dijon mustard and lemon juice to the sauce, whisking until fully incorporated.

season with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Remove from heat and stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.

Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a splash more cream or a bit of water to reach your desired consistency.

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
